In a group setting, participants will explore the issues that create difficulties in their relationships with their spouse. We will look at gender issues, cultural conflicts, communication styles and unresolved conflicts from one’s family of origin and how they interfere with the couple’s connection. We will also learn and practice techniques for improving problem solving and promoting closeness and friendship with one’s partner.
This group will be led by Victor J. Goldman LCSW, a clinical social worker with 35 years of experience working in the Port Jefferson area specializing in helping couples. In addition to his clinical practice, he is the co-founder of the Community Alliance of Northern Brookhaven Inc. (a group dedicated to promoting awareness of drug and alcohol abuse), and with his wife, Carolyn Schwartz PhD, teaches ballroom dancing to couples in the area.
